Reward Offered for Information on Stephens County Camper Fire

PRESS RELEASE – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a Stephens County residential fire is under investigation.

“On July 19th, investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene of a camper fire on Charles Hayes Road in Toccoa,” said Commissioner King. “The blaze began at approximately 11:06 p.m. on July 18th and completely destroyed the residence. Anyone with information on this fire should call the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-252-5804.”

In coordination with the State Fire Investigations Unit, a reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

Our office is working with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Eastanollee Volunteer Fire Department on this investigation.
