New Year’s Day Assault Investigation

PRESS RELEASE – Two suspects have been taken into custody regarding a suspected assault that occurred on New Year’s Day in the Defoor Road area.

Upon arrival at a single-car accident on Sunset Drive at 2:45 a.m. yesterday, Jan. 1, deputies found the vehicle to be abandoned and covered in blood.

After a thorough search of the area, a female was located in the woods near Sunset Drive and Davis Road with a laceration to the head and several wounds.

After being transported to the Stephens County Hospital Emergency Room, she was later life-flighted to another medical facility due to the severity of her wounds.
