1 Arrested Following Shots Fired on Foxglove Road

PRESS RELEASE – On Monday, May 4, 2026, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired in the area of Whispering Pines Drive near Foxglove Road. One individual was arrested as a result of the investigation.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., SCSO deputies made contact with an individual who called 911 to report shots fired near their residence. Deputies then made contact with an individual identified as Skyler Hulett, 23 of Toccoa, who was allegedly involved in the incident. Hulett advised deputies that following a verbal dispute, another male discharged a firearm from his vehicle on the roadway near Hulett’s residence on Foxglove Road.

SCSO investigators then responded to the scene for further investigation. After reviewing nearby camera footage and interviewing both males, SCSO investigators were able to dismiss Hulett’s claim that the other individual fired shots and determined that Hulett himself had discharged a firearm. They then obtained a search warrant for Hulett’s person and residence.

Throughout the investigation, investigators learned the incident began as a road rage encounter on Oak Valley Road. Once Hulett arrived at his residence on Foxglove Road, the two males engaged in a verbal altercation at which time Hulett retrieved a firearm and fired multiple shots into the ground before allegedly aiming the firearm at the other male. A second altercation occurred when the other male attempted to leave the area, but no other shots were fired at that time.

During a search of Hulett’s property, investigators discovered multiple shell casings that appeared to match a rifle located in Hulett’s truck. Investigators collected additional evidence from both individuals. Hulett was subsequently arrested and transported to the Stephens County Detention Center, where he remains awaiting a bond hearing with a Stephens County magistrate judge. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Reckless Conduct, and Making False Statements.
