Vote Jonathan McColumn for US Senate

*Sponsored by the McColumn for Leadership Fund*

GEORGIA – Retired Brigadier General Jonathan McColumn is bringing a message of “Back to the Basics” to Georgia voters as he campaigns for the U.S. Senate, promoting what he describes as a constitutional, compassionate, and conservative vision for the country.

McColumn, a retired U.S. Army officer with 35 years of military service, says his campaign is rooted in faith, constitutional principles, fiscal responsibility, and strengthening American families. His platform emphasizes a “Biblical Worldview,” support for veterans, economic affordability, border security, and reducing the national debt.

Among the issues highlighted in his campaign platform are:

  • Supporting a “culture of life”
  • Protecting women’s sports and private spaces
  • Promoting education over “indoctrination”
  • Maintaining low taxes and improving home affordability
  • Expanding energy independence through oil and gas production
  • Strengthening national security and support for veterans
  • Encouraging public-private partnerships as alternatives to government-only solutions

McColumn also advocates for returning to what he calls traditional constitutional values, including stronger fiscal oversight in government, balanced budgeting, accountability under the rule of law, and prioritizing benefits for U.S. citizens.

A Georgia Republican, McColumn points to his extensive military and leadership experience as a foundation for his candidacy. During his Army career, he commanded organizations of more than 6,000 personnel and directed logistics and contracting support operations serving over 25,000 U.S. and coalition forces overseas.

His background includes:

  • Two combat deployments
  • Completion of the U.S. Army War College
  • Three master’s degrees (MBA, MS, MSEd)
  • Service as a pastor, educator, consultant, and acquisition professional
  • Assignments and service across multiple countries, including Iraq, Kuwait, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and Poland

McColumn’s military honors include the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Bronze Star.

Campaign materials describe his platform as focused on strengthening families, protecting children, caring for veterans, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and promoting what he calls “One Nation Under God.”

The campaign’s slogan, “Back to the Basics,” coincides with America’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration in 2026.
